Why I'm Building NextStep? When people look at my CV, they often see UNICEF Youth Council, the Asian Economics Olympiad, international competitions, social projects, and youth forums. What they don't see are the dozens of opportunities I missed simply because I never knew they existed. Before joining the UNICEF Youth Forum, placing among the Top 5 social projects in Kazakhstan with Brightful Education and receiving a $1,000 development grant, competing in the Asian Economics Olympiad, participating in UNESCO's "Turn It Around" Competition, KIMEP Case Competition, Code for Climate, and many other initiatives, I spent countless hours searching through scattered Telegram channels, Instagram pages, LinkedIn posts, and university websites. That experience inspired me to build NextStep. NextStep is not simply another internship platform. It is a platform that helps students discover opportunities that shape both their careers and their identities. Based on my own experience, I realized that one opportunity can completely change the direction of someone's life. Unlike platforms such as Handshake, which mainly focus on internships and jobs, NextStep is designed around the student journey. Especially for students interested in International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, and Social Sciences, finding opportunities remains surprisingly fragmented. My vision is to create one ecosystem where students can discover: • international youth forums, conferences, volunteering • research programs • scholarships • competitions • student organizations • career events • resume reviews • verified internships Instead of asking, "Where do I find opportunities?", students should be asking, "Which opportunity matches my goals?"
