Being selected as a UNICEF Youth Council Member for Southern Kazakhstan has been one of the most meaningful experiences in my journey toward International Relations. I joined the Council not to strengthen my university application, but because I genuinely believe that young people can contribute to solving global challenges through cooperation, dialogue, and community leadership. This year, I organized Student Talks for more than 100 students, promoting the Sustainable Development Goals, volunteering, and raising awareness about careers in International Relations. I also co-organized a networking event with UK alumni in Political Science and Education, creating opportunities for students to connect with experienced professionals. As a representative of the UNICEF Youth Council, I participated in discussions with the Orken Foundation on introducing anti-bullying initiatives in schools, where I proposed integrating Emotional Intelligence lessons into the educational program. I also contributed to designing the UNICEF ESG Hackathon for rural students in Taldykorgan, encouraging participants to develop practical environmental solutions while strengthening teamwork and leadership skills. Thanks to my C1 English proficiency, I served as an interpreter for international delegates during UNICEF events, while continuing to study Chinese and Turkish to further develop my intercultural communication skills. Currently, I have been invited to help organize the Almaty Regional Youth Forum: Central Asia United for Sustainable Development, one of the largest youth forums in Central Asia, welcoming delegates from across the region and Türkiye. I support the organization of creative zones and the selection of speakers in International Relations, education, and public policy. This opportunity became possible after my social initiative, Brightful Education, was selected among the Top 5 social projects in Kazakhstan, earning a $1,000 development grant. More importantly, it reinforced my belief that sustainable change begins when young people are empowered to lead. 🇺🇳
