When I was six years old, my mother enrolled me in piano lessons because playing the piano had always been her dream. Unfortunately, it was a dream that never came true. My grandmother didn’t t see the need for her children to attend music classes, so my mother never had the opportunity to learn. Because of this, my mother decided that her own children would have the chance to explore music. Today, all three of her children can play musical instruments, including the piano and the dombra. What began as my mother’s dream became one of the most meaningful parts of my life. After years of practice, I can now perform pieces by composers such as Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart, as well as works by Kazakh musicians and composers etc. Through music, I learned discipline, patience, and perseverance. This experience taught me how much parents can influence our lives. Sometimes, a single decision they make can introduce us to a passion we never knew we had. Looking back, I am grateful that my mother shared her dream with me, because it helped me discover one of my own. 🎹🤍
