During my school years, I experienced how access to educational opportunities could differ depending on a student's background and prior preparation. That experience made me wonder whether educational inequality could be identified earlier—not only through observation, but through data. This question has inspired me to begin developing **DataQuest**, a project that explores how data analytics can support educational equity in Kazakhstan. The idea is to investigate whether publicly available data, predictive analytics, and data visualization can help identify under-resourced schools and students who may benefit from earlier interventions. My goal is to better understand how data-driven insights can support more informed educational decision-making and contribute to improving access to opportunities. DataQuest is currently in its early research stage. Over the coming weeks, I'll be reviewing existing research, exploring available datasets, and working toward an initial prototype. I'm looking forward to sharing both the progress and the lessons I learn throughout this journey. If you work in education, data science, public policy, or have recommendations for useful datasets or research in this area, I'd love to connect and hear your insights.
