Update: Survey Analysis and Project Direction After analyzing 89 survey responses, several clear patterns emerged. Many respondents indicated that they are interested in government-related information but often find it difficult to access, understand, or follow consistently. The most requested features included AI-generated summaries of government documents, local project monitoring tools, notifications about public spending, and simplified explanations of government activities. Interestingly, the results suggested that the main challenge is not always the lack of information itself. In many cases, information already exists (Open Budget, eGov) , but it is scattered across different platforms, presented in complex language, or difficult for ordinary citizens to interpret. This insight led me to rethink the focus of my project. Initially, I considered building a platform centered on monitoring government spending and public projects. However, the survey results showed a broader need: helping citizens understand government decisions, legislation, public programs, and budget information in a clear and accessible way. As a result, the project is evolving into an AI-powered civic platform that acts as a bridge between government information and citizens. The platform concept currently includes: simplified explanations of laws and policy changes; summaries of important government announcements and reforms; accessible visualizations of public budget information where available; civic guidance tools that help users understand where to find services, information, or support. The goal is not to replace existing government resources, but to make them more understandable and accessible for a wider audience. The next stage of the project will focus on designing and prototyping these features based on the needs identified through the survey. In my next update, I will share the first prototype concept and provide a more detailed overview of how the platform will work, including its key features, user experience, and the role AI can play in making government information more accessible and understandable for citizens.
