Recently I have started researching more the relationship between light and matter in solutions through refractive index. Main tools which were used are shown in the photo: polychromatic ray box, protractor, copper sulfate and semicircular container. As a result, I was able to assess the concentration of substances in water through its optical properties which can contribute to one of the environmental goals of Sustainable Business Committee, Clean Water and Sanitation. Moreover, in industrial setting, I hope this work can improve the calibration of refractometers used in quality control processes. By anchoring all of my existing interests towards my goal, including scientific ones, I eventually would like to draw closer to it.
