A month ago, I participated in a foresight session focused on the integration of AI into Kazakhstan's education system by 2040. Our team won first place, and our project specifically explored the use of AI in the grading system. We identified several existing problems in the current assessment process and proposed an AI-based mechanism designed to address these issues. However, throughout the session, judges repeatedly mentioned their concern: AI's inherent lack of empathy and its potential to gradually diminish students' critical thinking skills. Seeing how rapidly AI has become integrated into our daily lives, I definitely agreed with many of their concerns.
