MealMate

MealMate is an AI-powered meal planning mobile app that helps users decide what to cook based on ingredients they already have at home. Users log what's in their fridge, and the app's AI suggests personalized meal ideas, reducing food waste and the daily stress of figuring out what to eat. Built with React Native (Expo) on the frontend and Flask + PostgreSQL on the backend, MealMate connects to Claude AI to generate smart, context-aware meal recommendations tailored to the user's actual inventory. The target user is a busy student or young professional in a city who shops irregularly, wastes food often, and spends too much mental energy on meal decisions every day.
